Rocky Horror Picture Show

It’s just a jump to the left! And then a step to the ri-iii-iii-iiiiiii-iight Put your hands on your hips, and bring your knees in tiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight!

Sorry, that’s probably going to be stuck in your head for at least 10 minutes, maybe more. The Frank Banko alehouse cinema is going to be running midnight screenings of the the Rocky Horror Picture Show on friday and saturday nights nearing the end of October. If you’ve got a child who is a bit older (like, high school junior or senior age) feel free to traumatize them, otherwise you may want to leave the kids at home. Don’t forget to bring toast!

Sadly (but understandably – I gueesssssss) they won’t let you bring in water guns – fascists! :(

If you’ve never been to see Rocky Horror, you may want to review the show’s etiquette before you go.

Here’s the info from the Artsquest ticket page:

About

A newly engaged couple have a breakdown in an isolated area and must pay a call to the bizarre residence of Dr. Frank-N-Furter.

THE cult classic… there is no other film quite like Rocky Horror and there never will be. This timeless film is best screened at midnight and we were more than happy to bring this tradition back to the Lehigh Valley.

And this is no DVD… we’re screening the 35mm version, like it was meant to be seen.

Rocky Horror is about fun and interaction.

We ask all patrons respect our new facilities and the other guests, so that all may enjoy the show and we can continue offering this great show in the future!

Costumes are encouraged!

*No squirt guns or water props will be admitted.

Check out this page for more helpful advice http://www.rockyhorror.com/participation/etiquette.php

Hopefully I can make it out to one of the showings before they sell out, it looks like the October 21st showing is already full!

Now if you’ll excuse me, I think there’s a light on up at the Frankenstein’s place…

I will definitely be at one of these showings. While I don’t think I’d dress up, I’d like to be in the company of those who would :)
